Tuesday, April 07, 2009 - Longbow 2008 Version 1.1.5 Released
Version 1.1.5 of Longbow 2008 has been released and is now available for download.
This version includes a number of small fixes/alterations that includes amongst other, a handicap calculation bug and a bug that relates to the PDA import facility.
Please note that there is a known problem with our new installer that results in not all old files being replaced with their newer versions.
This issue was fixed in version 1.1.4 and if you currently have this version installed you can upgrade without uninstalling the previous version. If you are not on version 1.1.4 you will need to uninstall your current version and then re-install the new version.
Part of this release includes fixes to the automatic error reporting. This will now work as intended and it is hoped that this will enable us to fix any outstanding bugs in the software. You can turn this feature on in the System Control Dialog.
The next major release of Longbow has been delayed until mid/late 2009 however minor releases (ie. bug fixes) will continue to be released as and when bugs are identified and fixed.
Wednesday, February 04, 2009 - Longbow 2008 Version 1.1.3 Released
Version 1.1.3 of Longbow 2008 has been released and is available for download. This version includes a number of small fixes.
Please note that there is a known problem with our new installer that results in not all old files being replaced with their new versions. We hope to have this fixed in time for release 1.2.0 which is currently scheduled to be released for the end of February.
In the meantime, please uninstall any previous versions of Longbow 2008 before running the new installer.
Monday, January 26, 2009 - Longbow 2008 price changes announced.
Following a review of other archery software on the market and their respective prices, MDESystems has decided to make the following changes to the price of Longbow 2008.
- Increase the price of the Individual edition of Longbow 2008 from £10 to £20 (GBP) .
- Reduce the price of the club edition from £70 to £60 (GBP).
- All other edition prices will remain the same.
These new prices will come into effect on the 1st of February so this is your last chance to purchase at 2008 prices! Buy now to avoid disappointment.
Monday, January 19, 2009 - Longbow 2008 Version 1.1.0 Released
MDESystems are pleased to announce the latest release (1.1.0) of the of the Longbow 2008 product.
This is a major release and includes a large amount of bug fixes, new functionality including a data import facility for importing scoresheet information and full reporting migration away from crystal reports and onto Microsofts SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services.
This latest version of Longbow has full support for Microsoft Vista and a greatly reduced installer file size (reduced from 80MB to 5MB).
Included in this release is our new bundled Application Log Viewer (replaces the errorlog viewer application) that provides better customer support options including the ability to submit selected errors directly to our helpdesk for a quick response.

Thursday, September 11, 2008 - Longbow 2008 Version 1.0.5 Released
MDESystems are pleased to announce the release of the latest version of the Longbow 2008 product.
The latest release includes some minor bug fixes that needed addressing before the next major release that is planned for late 2008 plus a few useful additions.
Customers who have either purchased or who are currently using the trial version should upgrade as soon as possible.
If you have already got a copy of Longbow 2008 installed, you only need to download the smaller Upgrade installer file (approx 5MB). Those people who have not yet downloaded a copy of the Trial version of Longbow 2008 will need to download the full installer (approx 80MB). Both these installer files can be accessed from our downloads page.

Friday, August 29, 2008 - Longbow 2008 - Trial Version Bug Fix.
We have been notified of a critical bug in the most recent release (1.0.4) of the Trial Version of Longbow 2008. This bug causes Longbow 2008 to crash when you attempt to view recordsheets and also when the sql scripts run.
After an investigation, it has been found that;
- The bug is isolated to the Trial Version and does not affect any other edition of Longbow 2008.
- Although this bug prevents the user from viewing recordsheets, it does not cause any loss of data.
The bug in question has now been fixed and we would advise anyone currently using the trial version of the software to download the latest installer from our downloads page.
Please note that once the new installer has been downloaded and the update installed, the actual version of Longbow 2008 will not change. This is because the bug was generated during code protection rather than being an inherent floor in the software.
This issue does not affect any other version of the product and is isolated to the Trial Version.
Tuesday, August 12, 2008 - Longbow 2008 Version 1.0.4 Released
MDESystems are pleased to announce the release of the latest version of the Longbow 2008 product. The latest release includes both bug fixes and new functionality that includes the new PDA Data Import facility that is to be supported by Bow Buddy.
We strongly advise all customers who have either purchased or who are currently using the trial version to upgrade as soon as possible.

Thursday, June 26, 2008 - Bow Buddy to support Longbow 2008
MDESystems are pleased to announce that BowBuddy will be supporting Longbow 2008s PDA Scoresheet import facility in their next release.
As a result of this collaboration, MDESystems will no longer be creating a PDA solution. MDESystems will concentrate all development efforts on Longbow 2008 and also the integration of Longbow 2008 into a Club Website solution that is also currently under development.
