Main Screen

The image below is of Longbows' main screen.

You can access all the other functionality within Longbow from this one screen.  We have tried to mimic MS Explorer as far as possible to reduce the learning curve to a minimum.  As a result, many of the features that you will find in Microsofts Explorer will be available in this main screen.

Lets start by taking a quick look over what you can see on the screen above...

The left hand panel is used to display news items and is split into two seperate categories.  These news items are updated each time you run the application from the www.mdesystems.co.uk website. 

The top area will display news items that relate specifically to MDESystems.  These will include update notifications, new product releases etc.

Longbow splits the functionality into three clear areas, MyArchers, MyClubs and MyRecords.  You can alternate through these areas through either the View option on the top menu OR by using the shortcut keys of F1 for MyArchers, F2 for MyClubs or F3 for MyRecords.

You can also customise how you view data on this screen through the same View (see below) menu.

You can also modify how you view these items by right clicking your mouse within the white box/list control.

Each 'View' has its own preferences that you can set.  This means that if you want to view Archers by Thumbnails (as shown in the image above), Clubs as icons and Records (as in recordsheets) as a list of details, you can do so.  You can also choose the details you want to view in the list through the Choose Details dialog.  This can be accessed again from the View menu (see above).  When you choose what fields you want to see, these selected fields are also saved to your preferences.

These preferences are loaded each time you run the application which means that once you have set them up, you will not need to do so again.
