Longbow 2008 - Customise.

Longbow 2008 contains many ways in which you can customise how it behaves to make your life easier.  These settings are saved between sessions so that you only have to set these up once.

The first way to customise Longbow 2008 is to set your viewing preferences on each of the 'Views' on the main screen.  You can set a different view for MyArchers, MyClubs and MyRecords.

Each view is saved when you either close Longbow 2008, or when you choose a different view (ie. change from viewing archers to clubs).

How you choose to set up these views rather depends on how you intend to use Longbow 2008.  As an example, if you wanted to easily view names and contact numbers for all the archers in Longbow, you would probably want to set the view on MyArchers to Details, and then using the choose details dialog, select the details you want to see.  You can then print these details as a custom report by using our custom report facility.

If you are using the Club version of Longbow 2008, you will probably just want to save your clubs emblem and then view your clubs by thumbnail images.

As for your recordsheets, you will probably want to view these as details and then select some common details, again using the choose details dialog like archer name, round name, date shot etc.

One of the things that you will be doing most is entering recordsheets into Longbow 2008.  As a result, we have made a series of options available to you to reduce the amount of details you need to enter.

You can also set up some default choices using the Options dialog.  This dialog is accessible from the tools menu on the main screens.

All our drop down boxes also implement what is called 'suggest and append'.  This means that instead of being forced to select a single entry from what could be a large collection of items in a drop down list, you can instead type into the box and then a smaller list will be displayed to you to choose from.  This can dramatically reduce the time taken to enter details.
