Archery Software from MDESystems - Longbow 2008
Overview
After investigating the archery software currently available, it was discovered
that Archery Clubs, as an organisation, were lacking a purpose built software solution
that covered all aspects of their day-to-day administration. Most of the currently
available archery software seems to be aimed at one or two specific areas rather
than having a one stop solution.
Longbow has been created to address this gap in the archery software market and
aims to minimise all the administrative duties that are performed by Archery Clubs.
Longbow takes into account both FITA and GNAS shooting rules and these rules are
then implemented to control award schemes, age grouping, handicap calculations etc.
Functionality
Longbows' aim is to minimise the day to day administration that is required to run
an Archery Club. To enable us to do this, Longbows design model is a mirror
of the organisational hierachy of an Archery Club.
It covers ALL available disciplines not just Target Archery and
Longbow enables you to maintain EVERY aspect of your club.
The functionality is split into these three main areas;
- Club Details
- Archers Details
- Club Records
Your Club Details include tasks such as;
- Maintain your Clubs general details such as address details etc.
- Maintain your Clubs Members.
- Maintain your Clubs Officers.
Archers Details include recording their;
- Address Details
- Affiliation Details
- Attained Awards
Your Club Records include tasks such as;
- Recording Scoresheets
- Calculating Handicaps
- Calculating Classifications
- Maintaining Club Records
- Recording Championship/Tournament Results *
NB. Unlike some of our competitors solutions, Longbow 2008 allows you to enter Recordsheets in any order.
Reporting
As you would expect, Longbow also enables you to print and save automated reports.
These reports can be saved as Word Documents, PDF and many more. You also have the
option to create your own user defined reports to enable you to query all the record
sheets that are recorded.

- Clubs Current Records (Junior and Senior)
- Individual Archers Details
- Individual Clubs Details
Anything that can be automated has been automated to reduce your administration
to the absolute bare minimum.
